Band Aid live on Top of the Pops
Keep your eye out for the Jam's Paul Weller, who somehow can mimic Bono to the point of sounding exacly like him! Imagine what "Going Underground" would have sounded like if U2 would have covered it???

The Fuccons
So there's this new blog, TV In Japan.
As you can imagine, I'm hooked. One of the few regrets I have is not taping more TV when I lived there; it's truly some of the most bizzare entertainment out there.
"Oh Mikey!" is just one such example, and TV In Japan has a great posting: almost 35 minutes of video.
Prepare to be wowed!
I also urge you to visit the Blog and check out the ton of other stuff out there.

Jim Diamond's case against White Stripes to go to court
It's kind of sad that it came to this, but I actually think Jim has a point here. I've been in enough recording sessions to know how important the producer and engineer can be to the creative process, and it's no secret that the White Stripes' sound owes a whole heck of a lot to Jim's ear.
I was a big fan of one Jim Diamond's earlier bands, The Wayouts, and would give a lot to have copies of some Christmas songs he and the other Wayouts recorded one year (1988?) and played on East Lansing radio.

20 years removed from battle, knight defends honor in Joust
Today, Steve Sanders is a trial attorney from Kansas City. A middle-aged married guy with four sons. A Sunday school teacher.
When he was 18, though, he was the king of the arcade. Growing up in Clinton, Mo., Sanders held the world’s best scores in games such as Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. Heck, he wrote the manual on playing Donkey Kong. (You can get a used copy of The Video Master’s Guide to Donkey Kong for $25 on Amazon.com.)
His joystick skills landed him on ABC-TV’s “That’s Incredible” and the pages of Life magazine.

'99 Red Balloons' Video to Air for an Hour
NEW YORK - They're kidding, right? VH1 Classic will present a full hour of the English and German music videos for the 1984 hit "99 Luftballons," aka "99 Red Balloons," by German rock group Nena.
The music video presentation, to air Sunday (2 p.m. EST), caps off the cable channel's "Pay to Play for Hurricane Katrina Relief," which raised over $200,000 for Mercy Corps, a humanitarian relief organization.
Viewers could request one video to be played on VH1 Classic for every $25 donation. For a $35,000 donation, they could select an hour's worth of music videos from the 1960s through the early 1990s.
However, one viewer chose something different for his allotted hour, requesting continuous playing of "99 Luftballons," said VH1 spokeswoman Maura Wozniak.
"99 Luftballons" is a Cold-War era protest song that tells the story of 99 red balloons floating into the air, triggering an apocalypse when the military sends planes to intercept them.

Interesting documentary
http://www.genuinehuman.com/friends_seen_and_unseen.html
He lives on audio tapes, passed through a vast underground fraternity. His sermons have become a "secret handshake" uniting the famous, infamous and unknown.
Friends Seen and Unseen, the debut documentary from genuine human productions chronicles the true story of the Prophet Omega, an obscure radio evangelist in Nashville, Tennessee. Preaching the word from his apartment, number Q258, Omega's identity has never been revealed - until now.
In its guide to the 2000 Nashville Independent Film Festival, the Nashville Scene wrote:
"This half-hour documentary may be the festival's most eagerly anticipated film … (it) should attract every musician in town."
The prediction was true.
